Δεν ταιριάζει πάντα η ίδια θεραπεία σε όλες τις ηλικίες και σε όλα τα πρόσωπα.
Το κάθε πρόσωπο που τραυλίζει έχει τον δικό του, μοναδικό τραυλισμό.
Και ίσως όταν κάποιος έχει μια αποτυχημένη προσπάθεια να ελέγξει την ομιλία του και να δει κάποια βελτίωση απογοητεύεται και δεν συνεχίζει να ψάχνει για την θεραπεία που του ταιριάζει.
Σημαντικό ρόλο παίζει  η ενημέρωση του κόσμου για τον τραυλισμό. Όταν γνωρίζουμε περισσότερα και ενημερώνομαστε μπορούμε να αντιμετωπίσουμε καλύτερα τις συνέπειες του τραυλισμού. 
Παράλληλα όμως μπορεί να μην είναι έτοιμος κάποιος να αλλάξει και έτσι σταματά την λογοθεραπεία.
Ο τραυλισμός δεν έχει πλήρη θεραπεία και ίαση. Άρα η προσπάθεια για έλεγχο της ομιλίας είναι διαρκής, χωρίς όμως αυτό να μας κρατά μακριά από την ανάγκη και την χαρά για επικοινωνία.

Για ποιούς λόγους συμβαίνει αυτό?
Η κάθε είδους προσπάθεια για να αλλάξουμε κάτι, προκαλεί διαμάχη, γιατί το καινούριο εναντιώνεται στο παλιό.
Γίνεται κάποια μορφή "πολέμου", με αρκετές "μάχες". Αλλες μάχες κερδίζονται και άλλες χάνονται. Αλλες μάχες είναι επιτυχημένες και άλλες είναι επώδυνες.
Η προσπάθεια συνέχισης της τροποποίησης της ομιλίας, όπως και κάθε είδους προσπάθεια, εκτός από τα θετικά αποτελέσματα, είναι ΚΑΙ ψυχοφθόρα διαδικασία..
Για αυτό, κάποιοι προτιμούν να μείνουν στα όποια κεκτημένα, και δεν συνεχίζουν..
